YMTE is a membership association for specialised schools and organisations within pre-college music education that provide high level musical training to a level appropriate for entrance into higher music education, if a pupil so should choose.
What is YMTE?
The objects of YMTE (Young Music Talents in Europe) is to support young talents in the under-18 level in music.
Our Vision
Music is measured by quality, and high standards require time and dedication. Yet, many young students struggle with time constraints, creating stress and imbalance. YMTE advocates for:
- A better balance between musical and academic education.
- Flexible learning environments that meet students’ needs.
- Access to role models and professional networks.
- Development of broader skills for an evolving music profession.
The most formative years happen before higher music education—and we aim to make them count.
What does it do?
YMTE is a non-profit association. YMTE aims to achieve its objects by a.o.:
- emphasizing the importance of a combined curriculum that includes both music and academic studies related to the preparation of students for professional studies in the future;
- to form a collaborative network in order to improve and develop the curriculum in both music and academic studies, with the emphasis on excellent performance and substantive relevance;

- encouraging and supporting exchange programs for students, staff and teachers.
